We are extremely pleased to be opening applications for our TrackStars™ Instructor Scheme once again, for the January 2026 cohort. This course is designed for dog trainers working with pet and companion clients, keen to get involved in a new activity from the very beginning, who want to be part of a training pathway with a national network of peers. On successful completion of the course, you can run your own sessions and assess your own clients for the TrackStars™ Titles and Awards.
TrackStars™ is our tracking and trailing scheme (searching for articles, not people!) where teams can progress at their own pace, and opt to achieve Titles and Awards. This style of training is fantastic for confidence building and relationship development, and TrackStars aims to tap into a dog’s natural talents and have fun whilst doing it! TrackStars is about celebrating the achievements of every team and creating a supportive group atmosphere, not competing against one another
This isn’t a “four days and go home with a certificate” kind of course; our Instructor scheme is an in-depth theory and practical course. It takes approximately six months to complete, with 9 days in-person coaching (including teaching assessments), homework projects, online zoom sessions and a discussion group with video and written homework, as well an extensive online learning platform to be worked through at your own pace. It will require a significant time commitment on your part.
You should have a dog to work as part of your practical training, as part of the process to becoming an Instructor includes training and qualifying your own dog to the TS3 title level. Some of this is done in your own time via video submission. You will also be required to complete an online canine first aid course with a specialist provider (this is included in your course fee).
We welcome applicants for this course from any location, but the practical training days are a mandatory part of this course, and will be held in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire beginning January 2026. The practical days will be outdoors in varying terrain and in whatever weather we get thrown at us.
In person block dates:
- 27 – 29th January 2026 (Tues to Thurs)
- 11th to 13th March 2026 (Weds to Fri)
- 19th to 21st May 2026 (Tues to Thurs)
The course cost is £1895 total, payable in four installments including £300 deposit. There are no ongoing membership fees and we do our best to create a supportive learning environment, and look after our intructors.
